§ 42-225. Crosswalks, safety zones, and traffic lanes.

  • The transportation director is hereby authorized to supervise the designation and maintenance, by appropriate devices, markings or lines upon the surface of the roadway, of crosswalks at any intersection where, in his opinion, there is particular danger to pedestrians crossing the roadway, and at such other places as he may deem necessary; to supervise the establishment of safety zones of such kind and character and at such places as he may deem necessary for the protection of pedestrians; and to supervise the marking of lanes for traffic on the street pavement at such places as he may deem advisable, consistent with this chapter and state law.
